Kolob Finger Scenic Byway/North Zion National ParkJust 18 miles south from Cedar City, UT, off of 1-15 at Exit 40, the Kolob Fingers Scenic Byway ascends several switchbacks to unveil the Kolob finger canyons. Offering a beautiful view any time of the year, the canyons transform into intense shades of red and orange during the fall. The Best Time

• Early September: It is unusual for the trees to have a lot of color in early September. Higher elevations may show some color at this point.

• Mid-September: About 30-50% of the trees at high elevation have begun to change color.
• Late September-Early October: This is usually the peak season to see fall colors in Zion National Park. Brian Head and Cedar Breaks are two favorite places to witness the foliage this time of the year as well as Duck Creek, Navajo Lake, and Panguitch Lake.
• Mid-October: Higher elevations are usually past peak at this time, but colors along Highway 14 from Cedar City are vibrant.

 

• Late October through Mid-November: This is the universally the best time for viewing fall colors in the park.
