Bryce Canyon in One Day

Bryce Canyon Visitors Center and Museum

When you're deciding what to do at Bryce Canyon in one day, make sure you start your trip at the Bryce Canyon Visitors Center and Museum. Talk to the rangers and tell them about your Bryce Canyon itinerary. They can give you up-to-date information about your route and help you get oriented with the different areas around the park. This is also the place to pick up a couple of maps for your drive and hiking trails. While you're there, watch the 20-minute introductory movie for an excellent start to your day. Also, check out the exhibits on display before you venture out to witness the beauty of the park.

Bryce Canyon Scenic Drive

The 18-mile scenic route at Bryce Canyon will take you to most of the major viewpoints of the park. You don't have to stop at all of them, but definitely make sure to stop and appreciate the beauty of Inspiration Point. From here, you can look out over the Bryce amphitheater, which contains hundreds of richly colored hoodoo stones. Pick your favorite point on the scenic drive and use it as a picnic point for lunch before you lace up your hiking boots. Bryce Canyon Sunset Point is also a great place to (unsurprisingly) watch a fantastic Utah sunset.

Bryce Canyon Day Hikes

After you visit some of the scenic points on the Bryce Canyon Scenic Drive, try making your way down into the canyon for a bit. There are several trails in Bryce Canyon that you can traverse in just a few hours. Try heading down the Navajo Loop Trail and coming back to the rim via the Queen's Garden Trail. The whole trip takes about three hours, and a great way to stretch your legs after a morning in the car. If you want something a bit easier, try walking a portion of the Rim Trail instead. When stomachs start to growl again, head back to the car and take a drive to one of these amazing Panguitch restaurants for a hearty dinner!
