Everything You Need to Know About Hidden Haven Waterfall in Utah
Hidden Haven Waterfall Trailhead
Trail Details
This one and a half mile (roundtrip) trek starts at the Hidden Have Trailhead which is about 10 minutes north of Brian Head Resort on highway 143. The gravel parking area at the beginning of the hike is not well labeled so keep your eyes peeled for a Parowan Canyon Wildlife Management Area sign. As you start on the trail, you'll walk past plenty of lush, green vegetation and wildflowers (depending on what time of the year you visit). Continue along the path as it deviates from the highway and slowly starts to climb a small mountain. After walking over a small wooden bridge, there are a couple of trails that branch off of the main one. One leads to a small amphitheater and picnic benches, and the other leads up the side of a mountain (don't take that trail). The last 200 to 300 yards of the path is the only part where you may want a walking stick and good hiking shoes as you traverse some rocky terrain before reaching the waterfall. If you hike the trail just after the snow starts to melt, the waterfall is a magnificent sight as it gently cascades down a 20-foot drop.Tip: The waterfall doesn't always have a steady flow, especially if you visit during winter when Benson Creek freezes over.Difficulty
Aside from the last part of the trail, this hike is straightforward, and visitors of all ages should feel comfortable exploring this trail. Even the rocky portion of the path is accessible compared to most excursions in the area.The Best Photo Opportunities
The best photo opportunities along the Hidden Haven Waterfall trailhead in Utah come toward the end of the hike where the rocky terrain provides a couple of unique shots. The waterfall is the highlight of the journey, especially when Benson Creek is flowing with melted snow from the mountains.
