This time of year, the area's diverse landscapes are snowy, scenic, and often secluded, creating a prime setting for winter play. If you're new to the winter way of life, don't worry - there are plenty of amazing winter attractions across the area that are fun for every family! From ski resorts to snowmobile tours and more, here are a few of our favorites.
Brian Head ResortSnowy slopes are made for shredding - and that's where Brian Head Resort shines. The iconic ski resort boasts 71 dynamic ski runs, an all-access terrain park, designated slopes for snow tubing, and two full-scale lodge facilities. Rentals and lessons are available on-site, making one of the state's most famed skiing destinations accessible to all.Thunder Mountain MotorsportsSnowmobiles are perfect for those who prefer fuel to their own two feet, and Thunder Mountain Motorsports is your source for all things snowmobile. They specialize in snowmobile tours, where a local guide will lead your group through some of Brian Head's most beautiful backcountry.
Cedar Breaks National MonumentMany people believe Cedar Breaks closes during the winter, but every trail is open for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In fact, that's the only way you can access most of them! Visitors can join a guided ranger walk or strike out solo to observe the amphitheater's amazing colors against a snowy backdrop. Don't leave before dark - you'll miss your chance to observe a clear winter sky at one of the park's famed Dark Sky Parties!Bryce Canyon National ParkDuring the winter, Bryce Canyon's colorful rocks and vibrant evergreen trees are blanketed in stark white snow, creating one of the most stunning scenes of the year. Visitors can cross-country ski, snowshoe, or backpack (with a permit) across the picturesque park, or you can sign up for an exciting ranger expedition like a full moon snowshoe hike or a late-night astronomy program. There are even fun winter events like the Christmas Bird Count and the Bryce Canyon Winter Festival!Panguitch LakeNo, you probably shouldn't swim in it - but Panguitch Lake offers plenty of other ways to play during the colder months! It's one of the state's best spots for ice-fishing, and winter anglers are often amazed at the trophy-sized trout swimming beneath the surface. If fishing isn't your favorite, many of the hiking trails surrounding the lake also double as snowmobile routes.
Our Wonderful Winter CabinsThere's no better way to spend a winter evening than snuggled inside a cozy mountain cabin with a crackling fire. Family Time Vacation Rentals has a wide range of properties across the area that provide a perfect place to warm up and wind down after a day of winter play.
